Good day Everyone,
Hope all is well. I wanted to share these communications and links with you. While I support the individual MUDs partnering with entities of their choice and the creation of special districts, I have some concerns about the slippery slope of counties shifting drainage responsibilities to MUDs.
This issue is not new to us, however it is complicated and will require serious thought as we maneuver and develop an acceptable strategy moving forward. Please consider reviewing this information and coming to the Cypress Creek Flooding Task Force meeting on September 6th to become better informed.
Flood water has no boundary or county/district line. Is creating a new overlapping taxing entity the answer or should the existing jurisdictions do their jobs? MUDs are in the process of funding one of the largest water projects in the world. MUDs also have aging water and sewer infrastructure issues of their own, as inflation hits a 40 year high with interest rates on the rise. Let’s minimize our emotions and make informed thought out decisions as we deal with these very difficult challenges.
Best regards,
Jerry Homan
